The famous tri-plane fighter, flown by Richthofen. He scored his last 19 victories with the Dr.I and was killed 21 April 1918 flying one. It was designed by Platz as answer to the excellent Sopwith Triplane. During operation it suffered wing failure. This could not be cured completely and prevented large scale production.
